You can download this fabric finding guide in either letter or A4 size to bring with you fabric shopping.

Begin by deciding on the project you want to sew and follow the chart down to the bottom. Once you find the family of fabrics ideal for your project you can head to the store and find the right fabric for your sewing project. I have not listed all the fabrics in the world, but this guide will put you in the right ball park for the best fabric for you.

You might notice that the fabric families along the bottom are in an ascending order from lightest to heaviest in weight until you reach the last two fabric families which are stretchy.
